T’s Getting Her Groove Back

We all know how you can fall off the wagon and lose your way through life.  Unfortunately, this is somewhat of an epidemic for most these days.  Well I have chosen to enter into the “Happy Black Woman’s 31 Day Reset” program to see if I personally can find my way back from wondering.

I must admit that I once thought I had my life planned out from a five to ten year plan.  Unforeseen circumstances have thrown me from most of what I had planned, and I now find myself in a different place.  I truly believe that things happen for a reason, and sometimes for the better.  At the time that these things happen we do not immediately embrace the change, but fight it.  I have learned recently to embrace all change, as it could possibly be for the better and as we have all been told God knows best.  So follow me along this journey and let us all see where we might end up.  I say what the heck.  This is my birthday month and there is no better month to partake in something that can promote a better me.

If you would like to join in please go to www.happyblackwoman.com and signup.  What do you have to lose but time.

Good luck creating a better you!

Bitter Sweet

I believe that every woman believes in true love and searches for it on a daily basis, if they have not found it already.  The unbelievable reality is that some may never know what “true love” really is.  I am one of those women.  Although, I’ve been married and divorced, I believe that there is a “soul mate” out there somewhere for me.

My question to those of us out here that are still searching is — when do we give up?  How many attempts does one make at finding the right one?  Do you keep trying repetitively?  What about the adage “nothing beats a failure but a try”?  Well, I don’t know what to think.  As a forty-something woman still searching for the “right one,” I sometimes wonder if it’s time to throw in the towel.  Come on, let’s be real, at my age you can only imagine the number of men that have come and gone out of my life for one reason or another.  I have to admit that I’m even ashamed to admit the number.  Some have lasted years, where others months.  In the end, I am still pondering the same thought — when will he show up?

Okay, let us look at this another way.  Beauty as we women think — does not have anything to do with it.  I look at my girlfriends who I admire and think that they are very to extremely beautiful woman and they have the same problem.  The men they find only want intimacy.  Once they satisfy their curiosity – they are out the door.  Or they stay around for a little while until they seek someone new or make an attempt to date another woman while dating them.  Its not that these women do not have it going on, they are educated or have decent or very good jobs.  Some even own their own homes.   So what is the problem?  That’s what we all want to know.

This is why meeting someone new or even starting a new relationship can be so bitter sweet.
